Arturo tuto de la Riva
Born and grown up in Guatemala City, in 1986 he graduated as an Arquitect at the Rafael Landivar University.
Emigrated to Vancouver, B.C., Canada and employed by the prestigious firm of Thompson, Berwick, Pratt Architects, working directly under the Chairman of the Board, Brian Hemingway and Senior Architect Fook Weng Chan. Scope of projects included major residential, commercial, institutional and recreational buildings in Canada, Malaysia and Singapore.
Studied glass carving with Markian Olynyk (mentor), kiln treatment for glass with Yves Trudeau and glass carving with Brian Baxter.
Established Capilano Estudio in Guatemala City and expanded his work to include laminated glass with Bert Glauner, Mexico.
Volitan Glass was founded 2003 to develop techniques fused glass molding.
